DBC Gifts of Love, NFP, is a not-for-profit 501 (c) 3 community organization, which helps entrepreneurs and community leaders give back to those in need with love and care. The organization has conducted food drives, winter accessories and toy drives for fire victims, and an annual book bag and school supply drive for homeless school children and other children in need. Items collected go directly to organizations or schools.
The in-person run/walk route will take place at the Vollmer Road Grove Forest Preserve located on Vollmer Road in Flossmoor, IL. The route consists of a paved trail that is 3.9 miles for a total of 5K. The route is suitable for runners/walkers of all abilities. Runners/Walkers are welcome to complete as many times around the trail as they feel comfortable. Virtual walkers can choose their own route and distance.
Our goal is to raise $25,000. This Walk-A-Thon will enhance our efforts and assist us in purchasing book bags, school supplies and gift cards for uniforms for homeless school-aged children and families in need. Your sponsorship will strengthen our efforts and commitment to serve the disenfranchised and our Chicago Southland community as a whole. The goals and achievements we reach are only obtainable through philanthropic partnerships like yours.
All walkers must online to participate. Runners/Walkers registration is used to raise funds for DBC Gifts Of Love, a 501(c) (3) nonprofit in Richton Park, IL. Who actively supports homeless school aged children and families in need through our annual book bag and school supply drive.
Online registration closes on July 20, 2022 at midnight. On-site registration is available on the day of the event.
All online registered walkers will receive a commemorative DBC Gifts Of Love 5K Event t-shirt. T-shirts for in-person walkers can be picked up at the registration tent. T-shirts for virtual walkers will be mailed approximately one week before the event. Please register early to ensure that your t-shirt arrives on time.
n-site refreshments will be available for runners/walkers as they complete each mile on the trail and at the shelter near the registration tables. Following the run/walk there will be beverages and snacks available, opportunities for photos, interviews and a medal ceremony for all runners/walkers. Bring a lawn chair for the whole family to attend and help raise awareness and support to homeless school aged children in our community.
